About the Company

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Assistant Manager to support the management of a children's residential home for young people with Learning Disabilities. About the Role

Working alongside the Home Manager, you will help lead the day-to-day operations of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and support are delivered to every young person.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Home Manager in the daily running of the home
  • Lead, supervise, and mentor residential care staff
  • Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, and structured environment
  • Contribute to care planning, reviews, and multi-agency meetings
  • Ensure safeguarding procedures and quality standards are consistently met
  • Conduct staff supervisions, inductions, and practice support sessions
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and administrative documentation
  • Support Ofsted inspections and regulatory compliance
  • Promote positive outcomes in education, health, behaviour, and emotional wellbeing

Qualifications

  • Level 3 or 4 qualification in Children's Residential Care (or equivalent)
  • Level 5 Residential Childcare qualification, or willingness to work towards it
  • Previous experience within a children's residential care setting

Required Skills

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
  • Sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection
  • Ability to manage challenging situations professionally and effectively
  • Full UK Driving Licence preferred
  • Enhanced DBS required (support available)
