The predicted salary is between 37338 - 40000 £ per year.

We are unable to provide work sponsorships or accommodate visa switches. As a Deputy Manager, it is recognised that there is more responsibility to support the service manager with the day to day running of the service. This includes running the home in their absence to allow them to perform additional duties.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Service Manager in the day to day operation of the service, deputising as directed in their absence.
  • Responsible for the direct supervision and line management of support staff and any other staff as required by the respective service.
  • Monitoring, maintaining and providing the highest standards of clinical and personal support and service delivery, while promoting independence and choice to the people we support.
  • Ensuring that all safeguarding responsibilities are implemented in line with the organisations safeguarding and whistleblowing policies and procedures.
  • Managing the rota effectively and within the budget and safe staffing levels.
  • Delegating and allocating duties to support staff ensuring that guidance and supervision are given.
  • Overseeing the ongoing assessment of peoples needs and organising and managing the shift to ensure that the appropriate support is delivered.
  • Ensuring people are supported with their physical care, personal hygiene needs and daily life tasks as identified in their person centred plan (PCP).
  • Facilitating/empowering people to become involved in aspects of the running of the service.
  • Assisting in the recruitment and induction of all new staff at the service.
  • Contributing to an effective programme of training, staff development and appraisal.
  • Participating in the ‘on-call’ procedures required at the service.
  • Complying with all health and safety policies and procedures.

  • Having sound observational skills to identify potential or actual changes in health status of the individual.
  • Training, coaching, motivating and developing staff.
  • Good interpersonal skills, able to communicate with people at all levels.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English and a good level of numeracy to maintain accurate records.
  • Well developed IT skills in standard Microsoft packages.
  • Able to work under own initiative within role boundaries and as an effective team member.
  • Discreet and able to maintain confidentiality.
  • Understanding of data protection and information governance.
