Are you an experienced Cook with a passion for creating healthy, nutritious, and enjoyable meals? Dolphin Homes is looking for a talented Cook to join our team at Kingfisher Court, our residential care home based in North Baddesley, Southampton, where you will play a vital role in the health and wellbeing of the people we support.
What Will You Be Doing?
As Cook at Kingfisher Court, you will plan and prepare calorie-controlled meals for the individuals we support, working closely with our Head Chef to ensure a consistent, high-quality dining experience every day. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Planning and preparing nutritious, calorie-controlled meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner
- Publishing meal plans ahead of time so residents and staff know what to expect
- Covering meal preparation on days when the Head Chef is not on rota
- Purchasing groceries and managing stock control and rotation wisely
- Ensuring full compliance with food hygiene and food safety standards
- Preparing meals in line with IDDSI (International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative)
What Are We Looking For?
We are looking for someone who has a genuine passion for food and takes pride in preparing meals that are both enjoyable and tailored to individual dietary needs. You will need to demonstrate knowledge and experience in:
- Food preparation, with a focus on calorie-controlled menus
- Food hygiene and food safety control
- Wise purchasing, food storage, and stock rotation
- Delivering meals consistently against a set breakfast, lunch, and dinner timetable
- IDDSI experience and knowledge of this is essential
