Trainee Domestic Appliance Service Engineer

Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Trainee Domestic Appliance Service Engineer to join our team. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical skills in appliance repair and maintenance within a field service environment. The role involves learning to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair domestic appliances, with a focus on safety, precision, and customer service. Responsibilities once trained

• Diagnose faults and repair domestic appliances in customers homes
• Provide accurate & timely reports of work carried out
• Offer professional advice & recommendations to customers regarding use, care and maintenance of their appliances
• Maintain a clean & organised company van and van stock of spare parts
• Ensure all care is taken over customers property, and work in a clean & organised way
• Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations

Qualifications

• minimum age 25 and a driving license held for more than two years – due to vehicle insurance restrictions
• minimum 3 years experience in a related role, for example electrical/mechanical servicing
• Strong customer focused & communication skills and the ability to work independently and able to keep calm & focused under pressure
• Knowledge of electrical safety
• Ability to diagnose faults using meters and attention to detail
• Willingness to attend further training
• Relevant technical qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds etc.) are preferred, but not essential
