Role Description
This is a full-time, in-person Senior Designer role based in London. The Senior Designer will create innovative, thoughtful and commercially viable design solutions for products, services and customer experiences. Daily responsibilities include generating concepts through 2D sketch work and 3D CAD, producing visual renderings in Blender and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop holistic and compelling design proposals for clients. Aircraft Interior and Rail design experience is highly desirable.
As a Senior Designer at tangerine, you will:
- Work collaboratively within a creative team
- Produce initial sketches and concept development work
- Participate in specialist and multidisciplinary design reviews
- Assess the suitability and availability of materials
- Create detailed design specifications using CAD, including parts lists and costings
- Build samples or physical models by hand or using prototyping equipment
- Test design concepts through digital simulation or hands-on evaluation
- Research materials, processes, technologies and market requirements
- Explore and present ways of integrating aesthetic, emotional and digital considerations
- Research and map customer experiences and align them with behavioural and lifestyle trends
- Monitor consumer trends and extract actionable insights
- Travel occasionally to client facilities to evaluate production feasibility
- Produce both quick low-fidelity renderings and high-fidelity photorealistic visualisations in Blender
Qualifications
- 6+ years relevant industry experience. Aircraft Interior and Rail design experience is highly desirable.
- Right to work in the UK
- Live and work in London or be within a commutable distance for in-studio working.
- Strong SolidWorks 3D CAD modelling ability and rendering in Blender
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong ability to work within collaborative team environments
- Bachelor’s degree in design, Fine Arts or a related field
- Experience in research-driven design and strategic problem-solving
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Ability to confidently present work to senior design leadership and clients during pitches and design reviews
- Required Software proficiency: SolidWorks, Blender, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office.
