Regional Finance Manager – Wholesale Markets Southwest
POSITION TITLE: Regional Finance Manager – Wholesale
LOCATION: Home based with regular travel – Southwest region (Bristol, Cardiff & Southampton)
REPORTS TO: Head of Finance – Wholesale
ABOUT THE ROLE
Responsibility for management accounting, forecasting, commercial analysis, and decision support relating to the
Dole Wholesale Markets branches within the region.
Working closely with the Branch Managers, Regional Directors, and Head of Finance to maximise the commercial
opportunities and identify risks and opportunities within the region.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Proactive Finance Business Partner providing support, challenge and insight to the Branch Managers and Regional Directors
- To deliver timely, accurate & relevant financial information & analysis to key stakeholders including:
- Monthly and quarterly forecasts
- Annual budgets
- Variance analysis
- KPI\’s
- Ad-hoc analysis to drive business performance
- Identifying risks and opportunities to enable delivery of the targets
- Develop, rigorously challenge, and question the budget/forecast assumptions and KPIs
- Provision of the Monthly Review Packs and participation in the Monthly Branch Review Meeting
- Identify and explain business performance variances and recommendations for improvements
- Consignment reconciliation, analysis, and challenge
- Margin management through analysis and challenge
- Develop and understand distribution cost reporting & KPI\’s
- Benchmarking performance across locations
- Monitor new business performance and profitability
- Monthly accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Attend monthly stock takes
- Maintain strong financial controls across all areas
Support the Head of Finance as required through analysis and project activity
COMPLIANCE
- Working in accordance with SOX internal control framework to minimise risk and ensure transparency
- Ensure that all company policies and statutory requirements are adhered to
- Liaise with internal and external auditors
- Ensuring tasks are evidenced and saved in accordance with delegation of authority matrix in timely manner
- Ensure segregation of duties within branches are aligned with control framework

- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience in the fresh produce industry

QUALIFICATIONS
- Qualified Accountant, ideally CIMA
