We are looking for a Construction Project Manager to join our growing team. The successful candidate will have a proven project track record of managing construction projects in Ontario. A highly motivated person who works well within a team and takes ownership of their assigned responsibilities, is hands on, and can identify and resolve problems efficiently, and can build/sustain relationships with suppliers, trades, partners and the project team.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership and manage project activities throughout the life cycle of the projects.
- Oversee professional consultants, contractors, and vendors to ensure compliance with project and contract requirements, including costs and schedules.
- Prepare and update project schedules to ensure timely completion.
- Monitor cost and quality of the work to ensure high standards.
- Plan and coordinate with engineers, architects, trades, and vendors.
- Ensure all Health and Safety standards are adhered to by all team members.
- Communicate project status to management and forecast potential issues.
- Understand and enforce contract documents; manage change orders, including cost and schedule impacts.
- Attend project progress meetings and assist in securing building permits, occupancy, and licenses when required.
- Maintain ongoing liaison with site personnel and participate in project closeout.
Qualifications
- University Degree or College Diploma in Construction Management.
- Proficiency in architectural construction drawings; proficient in Microsoft Office; Adobe Professional Suite, MS Project. AutoCAD knowledge is an asset.
- Minimum five years of experience as a project manager in construction.
- Strong leadership, time management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Understanding of OHSA and ability to enforce Health & Safety practices.
- Knowledge of construction methods and practices.
- Must possess a valid provincial driver\’s license.
- Residents of Ontario eligible to work in Canada.
