We’re reinventing payments. In less than four years, Dojo disrupted the market to become the largest and most loved acquirer in the UK. Our payments infrastructure, purpose-built for in-person commerce, is game changing. Now, over 150,000 customers across four countries choose to transact billions with us every year. But we’re just getting started. Our people are the driving force behind our success. They are our greatest investment and our ultimate competitive advantage. We hire exceptional people and give them the autonomy, trust, and ownership to thrive. The results take care of themselves.

The Role

We are looking for a strategic leader to head our Core Infrastructure team and help us define the future of our internal platform. We believe in empowering our engineering teams by removing friction and automating the heavy lifting. In this role, we want you to be the catalyst that transforms our infrastructure into a competitive advantage, ensuring delivery is sustainable, scalable, and healthy. We are a high-autonomy team that champions the “Infrastructure as a Product” mindset. We design, build, and maintain self‑service solutions that significantly reduce cognitive load for our product teams. We are passionate about fostering a culture of psychological safety, technical excellence, and continuous improvement, and we need a like‑minded leader to help us grow.

What You Will Do

  • Cultivate a high‑performing environment where we nurture our talent through coaching, feedback, and autonomy.
  • Champion the Developer Experience (DevEx) by deeply understanding our users’ pain points and prioritising solutions that make shipping code a joy.
  • Lead the design and maintenance of core infrastructure products for a self‑serve platform that empowers product teams to move fast without breaking things.
  • Drive key architectural decisions and streamline processes to ensure our platform is efficient, secure, and cost‑effective.
  • Partner with stakeholders and engineering teams to translate complex business needs into robust, scalable technical solutions.
  • Own the delivery of impactful initiatives, balancing the need for speed with the necessity of reliability and long‑term health.

What You Will Bring

  • A product‑first mindset with a relentless focus on solving real problems for internal developers (our customers).
  • Experience leading Platform, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams with a focus on servant leadership and growth.
  • Deep technical understanding of cloud‑native infrastructure, specifically Kubernetes, Identity and Access Management (IAM), public cloud (GCP or AWS) and managed databases.
  • Proficiency in designing and maintaining Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and GitOps workflows.
  • Pragmatic decision‑making skills, balancing trade‑offs between urgency, complexity, and scalability.
  • Proven experience with the modern Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) for infrastructure, with hands‑on expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and desirably programming skills in a language such as Golang.

Values You Must Display

  • You’re curious. You have a real desire to learn and create.
  • You’re relentless. You keep going even when it’s easier not to.
