Support Software Engineer – Business Systems (Billing & Invoicing)
Location
Remote full‑time in the UK, Ireland, Estonia, the Netherlands, Sweden and Israel. Contractors in Eastern Europe and Portugal are also accepted.

The Opportunity
As a Support Software Engineer, you will design, build, and maintain our critical billing and invoicing systems. This role transitions from a support‑focused position to a full‑time software engineering role. You will troubleshoot complex billing discrepancies, debug data‑intensive financial processes, and analyze how billing systems interact with other business platforms.
Responsibilities
- Improve system observability by enhancing monitoring, logging, and alerting.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, especially finance and operations, to understand needs, identify inefficiencies, and lead technical solutions.
- Review code and mentor junior engineers on best practices for code quality and maintainability.
- Guide code‑base housekeeping efforts to mitigate technical debt, dedicating one day per week to this work.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship during planning and discussions of upcoming work.
>Automate manual processes to reduce operational toil and turn support knowledge into permanent solutions.
Qualifications
- 3+ years in a high‑level technical support role (e.g., Tier 3, Tier 4, Business Systems Analyst, Production Support) focused on customer billing, invoicing, or financial systems.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills with experience investigating data discrepancies, reading logs for financial jobs, and debugging complex business processes.
- 1+ year of software development experience.
- Solid understanding of Go and Python; familiarity with other languages is a plus.
- Experience querying relational (SQL) and non‑relational (NoSQL) databases.
- Excellent English communication skills, able to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Self‑organized, goal‑oriented, and self‑motivated with the ability to operate flexibly in a fast‑paced environment.

- Experience with business systems such as Oracle NetSuite, DealHub, and Salesforce.
- Experience with business‑processing tools like Workato and Fivetran.
- Experience developing cloud solutions or using cloud services.
