Valeo Foods UK is seeking an R&D Support Technologist to join our confectionery team on a 6-month fixed-term contract.
This practical, hands-on role is based at our York site, working closely with the R&D Manager and wider teams to support product development projects across UK confectionery sites.
You’ll contribute to R&D activity within the Valeo Confectionery Academy (pilot plant), helping to turn concepts into scalable products.
Responsibilities
- Support product trials and sample preparation in the pilot plant and factory.
- Manage ingredients, materials and stock for development and trials.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including recipes and specifications.
- Run and support sensory evaluation and shelf-life testing, and turn results into clear insights.
- Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to ensure materials are available for trials.
- Support customer and internal visits, including set-up and sample preparation.
- Assist with factory trials, report results and keep stakeholders updated.
- Collaborate with teams across product development, operations, procurement, technical and marketing; strong communication and organisation are important.
