- Job Overview
The Clinical Engineering service are looking for a new Support Team Leader to successfully lead and manage the administration team who are crucial to the Department and the work they do in support of the wider Trust.
Managing this team is paramount to the smooth operation of the entire Department; including the engineering teams plus that of the Medical Equipment Library.
Both provide the knowledge and expertise to inspect, maintain and repair a wide range of technically advanced medical devices.
This equipment is crucial to all areas of the Trust and is key to the delivery of quality patient care.
The administration team are responsible for placing around 1,400 orders per year; with an annual expenditure of over £500,000.
The team also provide support to the Trust medical device procurement programme with an estimated value of £2 million per year.
Key Responsibilities
- The Support Team Leader is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the admin team on a day-to-day basis.
- This also includes liaising with various external medical device suppliers, overseeing the ordering of numerous high value equipment’s and spare parts and tracking these orders through to delivery.
- A key function of this role is to assist the Trust with the hire of medical devices to meet the clinical need of specific patients and then receive and validate all invoices providing a high level of financial scrutiny and assurance.
- The post holder will work with the management team to identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency so logical thinking and attention to detail are also key to the role.
- Required Qualifications
- Ideally you will have a strong ability to lead and manage others having line management responsibility for two other staff members.
- Working well as part of a small team is essential, as is excellent verbal and written communication skills and a strong desire to help others.
