Overview

Associate Process Engineer in our Water Team across Scotland offices (Glasgow, Edinburgh, Perth and Inverness) with a flexible hybrid working model.

At AECOM, we deliver an exceptional portfolio of water programmes and projects through long-term partnerships with key clients.

This role supports a multi-disciplinary team on significant water infrastructure initiatives in Scotland, including involvement with Scottish Water’s SR27 Enterprise programme.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver: Develop and check process flow diagrams, mass balance calculations, P&IDs, process control, operating philosophy, control philosophy, FDS documents and related principles.

Conduct asset surveys and site visits as required.

  • Quality: Produce and review client deliverables, make key technical decisions, and identify when specialist input from the broader team is required.

Ensure all technical documents and data comply with relevant design standards and legislation.

  • Collaboration: Work with clients and AECOM counterparts to secure stakeholder buy‑in to solutions, contributing to AECOM’s wider technical capability and innovative approach.
  • Mentor: Delegate tasks, supervise the work of others, and act as a technical mentor to junior staff.
  • Leadership: Represent AECOM in technical meetings with clients and collaborate with engineers from other disciplines to deliver integrated solutions.
