The Role
We are looking for a hands-on Paralegal to join our growing team.
This is a broad, high-ownership role in an early-stage business where the legal and compliance function is actively being scaled.
You will support the day-to-day running of legal operations while helping introduce better controls, clearer processes, stronger contract governance, and more efficient risk management.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys operating in a fast-moving environment, takes initiative, and wants to help build the legal foundations of a scaling technology company.
You will be expected to roll up your sleeves, keep the core workflows moving, spot legal or compliance risks, streamline processes, and help create operational discipline across the business.
- What you’ll do
- Commercial Contracts & Support Review, draft, and negotiate standard commercial agreements, including NDAs, vendor contracts, Saa S agreements, and statements of work.
- Maintain and manage the central contract database/CLM, tracking key dates, renewals, rights, and business obligations.
- Help update and maintain standard company templates, playbooks, and fallback language.
- Legal Operations & Governance Help design, embed, and manage processes and workflows.
- Maintain accurate corporate records, minute books, and legal documentation.
- Coordinate cross-functionality with HR, Finance, and Security/Product teams.
- Identify workflow bottlenecks, repeated questions, and process gaps, then help build legal self-serve tools or checklists for non-lawyers.
- Compliance & Regulatory Research Conduct targeted legal research on statutory, regulatory, and compliance matters relevant to software, data privacy, and dual-use tech.
- Support data protection initiatives (eg. GDPR) and security compliance reviews.
- Synthesise complex legal findings into clear, digestible guidance for internal business stakeholders.
- Assist with preparation for investor reporting, board packs, or corporate transactions (eg. due diligence datarooms) as required.
- What you’ll bring
- 1–3 years of experience as a paralegal, legal assistant, or junior legal associate (in-house or at a top-tier law firm).
- Experience in a startup, scale-up, or technology/fast-moving environment is highly desirable.
- A strong foundation in commercial contract principles, legal drafting, and general corporate law.
- Education: English Law degree (LL. B / Senior Status Law), GDL/SQE/LPC, or equivalent relevant paralegal qualification/experience.
- Comfortable working in an environment where legal playbooks and processes are not yet perfect and where you will need to help build them.
- Strong attention to detail and a high level of personal accountability when managing legal risk and sensitive data.
- Confident following up with stakeholders across the business to get contract approvals, signatures, and legal inputs completed.
- Tech-savvy: Experience with Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) tools, e-signature tools (e. g. Docu Sign), modern knowledge hubs (e. g. Notion, Confluence), and office software.
