Band 6 Occupational Therapist – Neurology & Complex Care

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans and evidence‑based interventions.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and document patient progress, adapting therapy plans as required.
  • Educate patients and families on strategies and adaptive techniques to support independence.
  • Manage a caseload independently with supervision from the Lead OT.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, liaising with community services and equipment providers.
  • Support and mentor less experienced colleagues to maintain a consistent therapeutic approach.
  • Ensure clinical records meet HCPC and professional standards.

Requirements

  • BSc or equivalent in Occupational Therapy.
  • HCPC registration with evidence of CPD.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in neurology, specialist rehabilitation, or complex care.
  • Knowledge of evidence‑based practice and outcome measurement.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and support a multidisciplinary team.
