KAYAK is seeking a Mid-level Conceptual Copywriter to join a newly forming idea-first creative hub in London covering UK and EMEA.
We’re looking for a mid-weight creative to generate and craft bold, format-ready concepts from brief to delivery.
You're a modern, channel-agnostic team player who thinks big, even in the smallest formats.
With a keen eye for tone, wit and an understanding of idea and execution, you’ll write for the channel, the audience and the moment.
You may have worked at an advertising or creative agency, an in-house creative team, or somewhere entirely unexpected.
However you got here, you understand the power of language and how to wield it to tell stories and connect brands and people.
In this role, you will
- Conceive and develop original campaign ideas across multiple formats — from OOH and social media to short-form video scripts — ensuring each concept is tailored to the specific channel, audience, and communication objective.
- Write compelling hooks, headlines, scripts, and briefs that are sharp, format-aware, and built to earn attention — whether in three words on a billboard or thirty seconds on screen.
- Collaborate with designers, video editors and production partners to execute a range of campaign assets, digital and social media.
- Adapt copy and concepts across formats with a strong understanding of how message, tone, and structure must shift between OOH, paid social, organic content, and short-form video.
- Partner with cross-functional teams — including campaign managers, brand strategist and performance marketers — to ensure creative concepts are both ambitious and executable within real-world constraints.
- Be comfortable working solo or as part of a larger team — bouncing ideas, building on others' thinking, and helping the wider team unlock stronger creative directions.
- Leverage and champion AI tools as part of the creative process — using them for ideation, storyboarding, and rapid concept exploration — with the taste and judgment to know when they enhance the work.
- Maintain a strong visual aesthetic and sensibility, understanding how copy and design work together to shape the overall creative direction of a campaign.
Please apply if you are
- Up to 7 years into your creative career, with strong thinking, craft, and a portfolio that shows what you can do - with a background rooted in campaign ideation and short-form copy, not long-form editorial.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating conceptual thinking, format-aware copy, and integrated campaign work across multiple channels.
- Deep knowledge of advertising formats — you understand how to write for OOH, social media, and short-form content, and know that a great idea must be tailored to the format and audience, not simply repurposed.
- Script and brief writing ability — you can write a tight video script and a clear, actionable creative brief with equal confidence.
- Strong aesthetic and visual understanding — you can think in images as well as words, and understand how copy shapes the overall visual and creative direction of a campaign.
- A collaborative, ego-free mindset — you're a natural thinker who takes feedback constructively, understands that great work serves business and communication goals, and thrives in a cross-cultural team environment.
- Confidence presenting and defending ideas — you can pitch a concept clearly to stakeholders and adapt it with grace when the brief evolves.
- Experience writing for short-form video formats (e. g., Reels, Tik Tok, You Tube Shorts) is a must — familiarity with how copy and pacing work together in short-form storytelling is valued.
- Experience in film production processes is advantageous.
