About Modo Energy

The energy transition is the biggest infrastructure buildout in human history. Modo Energy is the data platform at the centre of it. We build the benchmarking, forecasting, and valuation tools that the world's most serious energy investors, developers, and operators depend on to make decisions. If a battery gets financed, built, or traded anywhere in the world, there's a good chance Modo data was in the room. Founded in 2019, we're 80+ people across London, New York, Sydney, and Madrid; $30M Series B, AI-native, and moving fast. This is a rare chance to join a category-defining company at the moment it’s scaling globally.

The Role

We're hiring a Market Advisor to join Modo's Advisory team. Most of our 200+ clients get Modo's data, forecasts, and research through a subscription. Advisory takes that same platform a step further: turning it into bespoke reports and transaction support for clients who are buying, selling, or raising finance against battery assets. When someone wants a view on whether an asset stacks up, needs a report to put in front of the bank lending against a project, or wants to walk an investor through the numbers, Advisory is the team that does it. The team sits slightly outside Modo's core structure, separate from engineering, the regional pods, and sales. It's three people today, soon to be four, and this role will be the fifth. Unlike Modo's other analyst roles, this one is built around client contact: roughly half the job is in front of people, presenting the revenue case for a battery asset to an investor or a bank, delivering the final report in person, representing Modo at conferences. You'll own your projects end to end, from scoping the work through to the client presentation, with support from the Head of Advisory rather than someone else running the relationship for you. This role is based in London and reports to the Head of Advisory.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Provide commercial due diligence and transaction support for clients buying, selling, or raising finance against battery storage assets, including a clear view on how good an asset actually is.
  • Turn Modo's data, forecasts, and research into tailored reports built for a specific client and a specific decision, rather than generic output.
  • Get in front of clients, banks, and counterparties directly, presenting your analysis in person rather than just writing it up and handing it off.
  • Own a project end to end, from scoping it and doing the analysis through to delivering the result, with support from the Head of Advisory.
  • Build a working knowledge of battery markets across Europe rather than specialising in just one; the variety is part of the job.

What We're Looking For

The Essentials

  • Experience in a customer facing analytical role at a business that invests in or lends against battery storage, for example an investment manager active in storage, or a bank financing storage projects. Adjacent commercial or financial backgrounds are welcome too.
  • Evidence that you can communicate analysis, not just produce it. Board presentations, client delivery, anything that shows the work didn't stop at the model.
  • Comfortable running several live client engagements and markets in parallel. This role has a lot of variety, and that's the appeal, not a downside.
  • Able to start within a reasonable timeframe without requiring visa sponsorship.

Nice To Have

  • Existing familiarity with European battery storage markets or the wider renewables investment space. New joiners get time to build market knowledge, so this isn't expected on day one.
  • Prior experience in commercial due diligence, transaction support, or investor relations.
  • A background at, or adjacent to, an investment manager, bank, or advisory firm that has worked on battery storage assets.

Equal Opportunity

Modo Energy is an equal opportunity employer. Employment decisions are made on the basis of qualifications, merit, and business need. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, colour, religion, national origin, sex, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, pregnancy, or any other characteristic protected by law. If you require assistance or a reasonable accommodation during the application or interview process, please contact us.

What You Can Expect From Us

At Modo Energy, we believe that exceptional work deserves exceptional reward. We're a high performing team, ambitious, collaborative, and genuinely motivated by the scale of what we're trying to build. You'll have real ownership from day one, work alongside some of the brightest people in the industry, and be part of a company that's defining a new category in the global energy market. We're hybrid: everyone works Tuesday to Thursday in office, with Monday and Friday flexible. We offer compensation that leads the market, equity for every employee, and the space to take your career wherever you want it to go. We're looking for people who want to do the best work of their careers. If that's you, we want to talk.
