About the Role

Join the creative team behind Atrium, a You Tube channel focused on creating engaging, informative, and entertaining long-form content, including documentary-style stories and historical events, for a global audience.

This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping the narrative of a growing You Tube channel and creating high-quality content that makes interesting and meaningful stories accessible to a broad audience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write approximately 1 high-quality You Tube script per month, typically designed for long-form video content.
  • Develop engaging narratives around documentary subjects, historical events, real-world stories, and significant events or moments.
  • Conduct excellent, thorough research using reliable sources to ensure scripts are accurate, well-supported, and factually sound.
  • Transform complex topics, information, and research into clear, entertaining, and accessible storytelling, particularly around historical events, documentaries, and real-world stories.
  • Structure scripts with strong hooks, pacing, narrative progression, and satisfying conclusions.
  • Collaborate with producers, researchers, and other creative team members to brainstorm and develop video concepts.
  • Incorporate feedback and revise scripts to align with creative direction, audience expectations, and channel goals.
  • Stay up to date with You Tube storytelling formats, trends, audience behavior, and content strategies.
  • Ensure all written content follows copyright, sourcing, and brand guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience writing scripts for You Tube or other long-form video platforms.
  • Experience writing for documentaries, factual programming, historical content, or other research-driven formats.
  • Excellent storytelling and writing skills, with a strong understanding of narrative structure and pacing.
  • Excellent research skills, including the ability to find, evaluate, cross-reference, and synthesize information from multiple reliable sources.
  • Ability to turn complex topics, historical events, and information-heavy subjects into engaging and easy-to-understand narratives.
  • Strong understanding of You Tube audiences, retention, hooks, pacing, and storytelling conventions.
  • Excellent command of written English.
  • Strong organization and time management skills, with the ability to consistently deliver high-quality scripts on schedule.
