Working Hours: 40 hours per week

Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical leadership and psychiatric care within a forensic inpatient setting
- Act as an Approved Clinician and hold Section 12 approval under the Mental Health Act
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, psychiatric evaluations, and treatment planning for patients with complex forensic and mental health needs
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, legal professionals, and external agencies to ensure safe and effective care pathways
- Contribute to Mental Health Review Tribunals, court reports, and legal proceedings as required
- Supervise junior doctors and contribute to their training and development
- Participate in clinical governance, service development, and quality improvement initiatives
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
- Inclusion on the Specialist Register for Forensic Psychiatry (or within 6 months of CCT)
- MRCPsych or equivalent qualification
- Section 12 approval and Approved Clinician status under the Mental Health Act
- Extensive experience in forensic psychiatry and secure mental health services
- Strong leadership, risk management, and communication skills
