Consultant in CAMHS Psychiatry

Grade: Consultant.

Working hours: 40 hours per week.

This is a locum position for a short‑term contract, available to start immediately.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments of adults.
  • Evaluate patients’ mental health challenges, considering personal history and symptoms.
  • Formulate individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs and goals.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team and collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver person‑centred care.
  • Oversee therapeutic interventions, including medication management and crisis interventions.
  • Monitor and evaluate patients’ progress regularly, adjusting treatment plans as needed.
  • Contribute to risk assessments and development of management strategies to ensure safety and well‑being.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Full GMC license to practice.
  • Section 12 approval.
  • Clinician approval status.
  • Relevant previous experience in a similar CAMHS psychiatry role.
