Overview
Our Eastern Region Cost Management business unit (Cambridge, Norwich and Peterborough offices) serves Education, Healthcare, Science, Commercial, Residential, Care, Industrial and Defence markets.
We are seeking a full-time Cost Management Director with proven experience across these end markets.
This is an opportunity to be a core part of AECOM's leadership team in the East of England and to develop and grow an exciting team in the marketplace.

Responsibilities
- Work alongside other Directors to manage, grow and deliver Cost Management duties on various capital projects across the East of England.
- Direct client liaison as the day-to-day interface, ensuring client objectives are met and driving business development, including winning new commissions and marketing objectives.
- Oversee the full project lifecycle from inception to post-occupancy and soft landings.
- Lead and support the internal team, mentor staff on technically complex projects (£5m to £200m construction cost), and take responsibility for successful delivery.
- Provide oversight, strategic guidance, audit and review on a portfolio of projects.
- Develop collaborative relationships with existing clients and other industry professionals; understand a client’s business and maintain client focus.
- Be connected, organised and self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision.
- Ensure successful delivery of projects with resources, timely management, and continued client satisfaction to drive repeat business.
- Be proactive, challenge existing methods to demonstrate value for money to clients.
- Minimum Requirements
- Primary interface with AECOM’s clients (new and existing) in Education, Healthcare, Science, Commercial, Residential, Care, Industrial and Defence sectors.
- Proven ability to build strong client relationships and actively create business development opportunities, securing new commissions.
- Proven ability to lead and deliver business development opportunities through bid writing and conversion to high-quality, timely commissions.
- Demonstrated ability to win clients through strong business development skills.
- Proven leadership within cost management and mentoring to the team.
- Proven ability to develop long-term relationships within the team, balancing people and processes.
- Manage delivery of cost management outputs to agreed timescales and quality standards.
- Coordinate and sign-off on all information produced by the team prior to formal issue.
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently and as part of a wider team in a consultancy or client organisation.
- Experience in a consulting environment providing the full spectrum of Cost Management services.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
