- Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant in Adult Psychiatry to join our inpatient team in Warrington, Lancashire on a short-term locum basis.
The role involves conducting psychiatric assessments, formulating diagnoses, and prescribing interventions for adults, with a focus on delivering high-quality mental health services.
Responsibilities
- Conduct psychiatric assessments, formulate accurate diagnoses, and prescribe appropriate pharmacological and non‑pharmacological interventions.
- Provide consultation and support to primary care providers, community mental health teams, and other stakeholders involved in the care of adults with mental health needs.
- Participate in service development initiatives, quality improvement projects, and research activities to enhance the delivery of mental health care services.
Qualifications & Experience
- Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC), Section 12.
- Demonstrated expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and management of mental health disorders in adults, including depression, anxiety, psychosis, and forensic psychiatry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients, families, and colleagues.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and engagement in clinical governance activities.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and contribute to the ongoing improvement of mental health services.
