Job Title: Consultant in Forensic Psychiatry | Grade: Consultant | Location: Ashford, Kent | Working Hours: 36 hours per week | Rate: Competitive, to be discussed upon application.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments of adults.
  • Evaluate mental health challenges by considering personal history and symptoms.
  • Formulate individualised treatment plans tailored to each person’s needs and goals.
  • Lead and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high‑quality, person‑centred care.
  • Oversee therapeutic interventions, including medication management and crisis interventions.
  • Regularly monitor and evaluate progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed to optimise care.
  • Contribute to risk assessments and management strategies, ensuring safety and wellbeing of individuals in care.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Full GMC licence to practice.
  • Relevant previous experience working in this type of position.
  • Section 12/RC approval is essential.
  • Approved clinician status desired but not essential.
