This is a fantastic opening for a placement student interested in gaining valuable experience within the financial services sector, specifically in pensions administration and client relationship management. What is a SSAS? A Small Self-Administered Scheme (SSAS) is a type of occupational pension scheme primarily used by company directors and small businesses to manage their retirement savings. SSASs offer a high degree of investment flexibility, including options such as property purchase and loan arrangements, making them a powerful financial planning tool. About the Role You will receive comprehensive training and hands-on experience in managing SSAS pension schemes and building strong client relationships. This role is perfect for someone eager to develop a career in financial services, client servicing, or pensions administration. What You Will Learn SSAS Administration How to set up and register new pension schemes with HMRC Support on scheme takeovers, investments (e.g., property purchases), and loan arrangements Assist with member enrolments, transfers, retirements, and death benefits Help prepare annual statements, valuations, and trustee documentation Client Relationship Management Support senior team members with client communications and relationship building Prepare reports, valuations, and meeting materials Learn how to respond to client queries with professionalism and efficiency Compliance and Business Support Understand internal systems, regulatory requirements, and industry standards Support continuous improvement in processes and risk identification Ensure compliance and quality across all tasks Training and Development Attend structured training and workshops on financial services and SSAS pensions Gain exposure to a professional office environment and the operational side of a financial services firm Who We’re Looking For Predicted or achieved minimum 2:1 degree (all disciplines considered) GCSEs including grade B or above in English Language and Maths Strong numeracy and analytical skills Keen interest in financial services and client management Highly organised with strong attention to detail Proactive team player with initiative and willingness to learn IT literate with strong Microsoft Office skills Commercially aware and professionally presented Exceptional candidates who do not meet the academic requirements but can demonstrate potential will also be considered.
