DOHERTY & GRAY BALLYMENA SITE YARD PERSON REQUIRED - FULL TIME - PERMANENT POSITION

A Yard Person (or Yard Operative) is responsible for maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and organisation of an outdoor commercial facility, depot, yard. They handle incoming deliveries, manage stock levels, and operate heavy machinery like forklifts to transport materials safely.

The Yard Person ensures the smooth, efficient daily operations of the facility's outdoor grounds and storage spaces. They act as a critical link between logistics and inventory management. The position is highly active, requires working in all weather conditions, and involves constant coordination with drivers and production staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inventory & Logistics
    • Loading/Unloading: Safely load and off-load delivery lorries, delivery vehicles.
    • Stock Checks: Monitor incoming stock, check items against delivery notes, and report missing or damaged goods.
    • Order Preparation: Retrieve, sort, and bundle specific products to fulfil site requirements.
    • Material Movement: Organise materials logically into designated racks or storage areas for fast retrieval.
  • Site Maintenance & Safety
