The Restaurant Assistant/Sanitation Specialist assists in operating a clean, sanitary, and orderly restaurant to help maintain the smooth operation of guest service, each and every shift. Responsibilities include:
- Completing opening and closing duties to ensure guest readiness.
- Greeting and interacting with all guests, creating a friendly and upbeat atmosphere.
- Holding the door open for guests and assisting/directing them.
- Taking guest take-out orders.
- Helping expedite food and drinks.
- Packing and delivering to-go food.
- Restocking service items, i.e., glasses, ice, condiments, etc.
- Checking and ensuring the overall cleanliness of the restrooms on a routine basis.
- Working the service bar.
- Restocking bar items for bartenders, i.e., glasses, ice.
- Stocking and cleaning beer cooler - including changing beer kegs.
- Emptying trash cans when needed.
- Assisting with pre-bussing and responsible for cleaning, disinfecting, rinsing, and sanitizing all tables after the guest leaves.
- Completing all assigned prep work.
- Practicing sanitary and safe food handling at all times.
- Cleaning and sanitizing the work area before, during, and after shift.
- Completing assigned daily and weekly cleaning projects.
- Washing dishes and ensuring overall restaurant cleanliness.
Qualifications:
- Must have the ability to frequently lift and carry bus tubs, trays, and other objects weighing 25 pounds or more.
- Place plates, utensils, pans, and cases on high and low shelves.
- Stand and exert well-paced mobility for periods of approximately six (6) hours in length.
- Possess finger and hand dexterity for using small tools and equipment.
- Transport cases up to 50 pounds up to 20 times per day.
- Lift pots, pans, etc. up to 40 pounds in weight.
Work Environment: Work will be conducted in a restaurant environment including the kitchen. May encounter temperatures ranging from 32 degrees to 425 degrees around equipment. May occasionally walk on slippery surfaces. Noise level in the work environment is frequently loud.
