Join Dogs Trust Worldwide as a Dog Welfare Assistant. We are looking for a passionate animal welfare supporter to join our busy rehoming centre in Leeds for 18.75 hours per week.

Employment Type: Fixed Term – Part Time (Full time equivalent £23,820 per year) plus benefits.

Location: Leeds (Onsite)

Compensation: £11,910 per year (full‑time equivalent £23,820 per year) + benefits.

What does this role do?

  • Provide exemplary daily care for the dogs in our Rehoming Centre, working to Dogs Trust\’s code of practice and Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Educate potential new owners and the general public about the care and welfare of their dogs.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to all visitors to the centre.

Could this be you?

We’re looking for an excellent communicator with empathy for people and animals. A strong team player, you will have lots of energy, a positive upbeat attitude, and experience working with dogs. You should be knowledgeable in basic behaviour and health issues, and, above all, be committed to the aims and objectives of Dogs Trust.

A full manual driving licence is also essential, as driving will be part of the role.

Our rehoming centres house thousands of dogs each year until they find a loving new home. The success of our centres depends on our dedicated team of staff and volunteers. We operate in all weather to ensure dogs live their best lives and provide top‑class customer service.
