The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for the remote management of trade accounts, including quotation and order processing, as well as proactive virtual selling activities. The representative will nurture and develop these accounts and identify accounts that should be considered for outside sales support.
Key Responsibilities
- Make connections and develop relationships with existing trade accounts.
- Regularly and proactively engage with key contacts at assigned accounts to identify opportunities for conversion and growth.
- Liaise between the inside staff and trade accounts to ensure that key opportunities are prioritized and followed up.
- Contribute to commercial decision-making/planning discussions, including the evaluation and successful onboarding of new accounts.
- May require making occasional site visits when appropriate.
- Gain trusted advisor status from customers by demonstrating an expert knowledge of the products, applications, and industries.
- Support initiatives to identify and implement pricing adjustments by gaining a deeper understanding of the competitive landscape.
Lead Generation
- Hunt for new leads and develop plans to pursue these opportunities.
- Utilize online tools such as Salesforce and LinkedIn to identify and record new sales leads.
- Collaborate with the Local Division Manager, Territory Managers, and Customer Service Team.
- Engage with resources to leverage sales growth: Dodge Product Marketing, Product Management, Engineering, and manufacturing Plants.
Performance Measurement & Reporting
- Timely reporting of sales for assigned accounts.
- Utilization of Salesforce.com, Power BI, and other sales tools to maximize account growth.
Required Qualifications
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Competent and professional usage of Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, ERP and CRM systems.
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably technical in nature, or equivalent/relevant job experience.
Physical Requirements
- Speak and present in person and virtually to individuals and small groups.
- Able to lift and pull up to 50 lbs.
Essential Job Functions
- Grow the Dodge business by acting as a trusted advisor to increase volume and capture new business opportunities.
- Develop relationships and network within tier 2 distribution channels.
- Collaborate, strategize, and formulate a yearly business plan with existing and new key customer contacts.
