Lakes College is a technical vocational Further Education College delivering education and training to full-time and part-time learners and apprentices to degree level. We have a vibrant campus in West Cumbria with state-of-the art vocational workshops and resources, including the National College for Nuclear Northern Hub.

As a senior leader in the college, this is a significant role in the development and delivery of all aspects of the College strategy to meet stakeholder needs in a complex and demanding business. This role requires timely and effective reporting to the Board and Executive Leadership Team and support the CEO in carrying out their duties as Chief Accounting Officer of the Group
In addition to their full involvement in the development of strategy, the postholder will be responsible and accountable for a range of business and corporate support services and will be adept at developing and managing staff to achieve a quality service which meets strategic objectives, including:
- Financial strategy, planning, budgeting and reporting, and the College’s financial health
- Recognised financial qualifications (ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA) and associated professional
- Leadership of Corporate Services and Systems, ensuring efficient and effective delivery to an excellent standard, inter alia finance, digital services; estates and facilities; Human Resources; MIS; Marketing and PR; contract management; cross college administration; Freedom of Information requests.
- Chief Operating Officer for Lakes College Enterprises Ltd subsidiary company and Finance Director for National College for Nuclear joint venture.
