Join a fast, founder-led team building an inbox-native operating fabric for the commodities sector—where AI transforms everyday communications into reliable, scalable workflows. This is a hands-on role shaping how LLMs orchestrate mission-critical commodity operations, with room for outsized impact and growth.
Doczen is a vertical-AI workflow platform that meets teams where work already happens—inside email and spreadsheets—so operations gain structure and automation without heavy change management. The long-term vision is "EDI for everyone": unifying communications, data, and decisions through agentic workflows so teams and partners always have the right information at hand.
The Opportunity: In physical commodities, a single voyage can involve dozens of counterparties, 70+ documents, and 400–500 emails—most of it unstructured and time-sensitive. The industry still runs on email because traditional EDI is costly and rigid. Doczen bridges that gap with AI that reads, routes, and verifies information while letting users keep their familiar tools. You will help define how LLMs, retrieval, and human-in-the-loop systems deliver reliability, auditability, and speed across high-stakes operations.
What You Will Do:
- Lead initiatives end-to-end: plan, code, iterate—always focused on solving real customer problems.
- Architect and ship React/TypeScript frontends and Python services with high standards for performance, security, reliability, and observability.
- Own prompt engineering and evaluation for production AI features, with robust test harnesses and quality signals built in.
- Integrate with enterprise systems (e.g. Dynamics 365, SAP), email/storage APIs, and iPaaS where pragmatic for resilience and scale.
- Design workflow orchestration with idempotency, retries, backoff, and dead-letter handling baked in.
What Success Looks Like (30–60 Days):
- 30 days: Delivered fully functional user stories from the backlog to customers.
- 60 days: Actively contributing to backlog definition and shipping game-changing improvements in UX, extraction accuracy, security, and functionality.
Must-Have Experience:
- Hands-on experience with LLMs, data extraction, and shipping products at scale.
- Full-stack strength: React + TypeScript and Python.
- A 10x mindset—bias toward ownership, speed, and impact.
Nice to Have:
- Founder or 0→1 experience; comfort owning outcomes end-to-end in ambiguous spaces.
- Experience in commodities, supply-chain or other intricate B2B domains.
- ERP integrations (Dynamics 365, SAP), iPaaS familiarity, and experience validating data across partner boundaries.
- Knowledge of EDI concepts/standards (EDIFACT, ANSI X12) or modern API-based data exchange.
- Experience with performance tuning and telemetry for web clients and distributed services.
How We Work: Remote-first with a fast, collaborative cadence; plans to centralize as scale and customer proximity evolve. High ownership, high trust, and tight feedback loops. Transparent expectations and a candidate-centric process. Above all, we work hard, joyfully, and have fun while building.
Compensation & Benefits: We believe in pay transparency—based on seniority we maintain salary bands of I, II, and III (hence the posted salary range), and equity ranges are shared early in the process. Expect competitive compensation with equity, flexible time off, and a learning stipend to support continuous growth.
Interview Flow: A clear, predictable process: intro screen → half-day deep-dive → same-day decision.
About Doczen: Doczen structures unstructured communications and attachments into auditable, automated workflows—right from the inbox—so operations teams move faster with less friction. The trajectory is "EDI for everyone," with agentic automation and deep integrations that support the sector's most critical decisions while keeping the user experience simple and familiar.
Apply if this sounds like you: Builders who love shipping, own outcomes, and thrive on clarity of impact will find outsized scope and leverage here. If you are founder-minded and ready to accomplish big things with a fast, dynamic team that figures it out together, we would love to hear from you. Founder experience is a plus.
