What we are looking for
Digital Healthcare ACPs who are able to commit to a minimum of 16 hours a week to provide virtual consultations via our intuitive platform, delivering high quality care to our patients.
As an ACP, you will confidently assess, diagnose, and treat patients on our digital platform. You will work within your scope of professional practice at all times being responsible and accountable for your decisions and actions in line with organisational policy. This includes active judgements when to seek support from senior colleagues.
Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and treat patients via remote consultations, establish accurate diagnoses, and develop appropriate treatment plans remotely.
- Build rapport with patients through effective communication, demonstrating emotional intelligence and promoting a positive patient experience.
- Prescribe responsibly, adhering to the Royal Pharmaceutical Society\’s \”A Competency Framework for all Prescribers\”.
- Maintain professional standards, adhering to the NMC/HCPC code of conduct and practice responsibly within scope.
- Recognise limits, manage risk: critically evaluate own competence and scope of practice, recognising when complexity and uncertainty require escalation to senior colleagues.
- Maintain thorough documentation, ensuring accurate and timely recording of all consultations within patient health records.
Training / Qualifications
- Relevant registration with a professional body (NMC, HCPC, GPhC)
- Postgraduate diploma (Level 7) or Masters degree in Advanced Clinical Practice or RCN Credentialling or HEE accreditation
- Valid IR(ME)R certificate valid within the last 3 years
- The Fit Note (FIT) training certificate
- Independent prescribing qualification.
- Minor illness training qualification (Desirable)
Experience
- Minimum 2 years experience as ACP independently prescribing (post ACP qualification) in Primary Care Setting/general practice within the last 5 years
- Broad autonomous scope of practice developed in a general practice setting as per the Core Capabilities for Advanced Clinical Practice framework
Knowledge And Skills
- Up-to-date knowledge of national prescribing policies and guidelines, and an understanding of working within the scope of professional practice.
- Knowledge of clinical governance principles as applied to remote working and digital healthcare (Desirable)
- Proficiency with clinical IT systems (ideally with Jira and Teams/Slack).
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage deadlines
- Commitment to patient-centred care and ongoing professional development.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to proficiently document patient consultations according to organizational policy and national guidelines.
- Ability to recognise individual learning needs and actively seek professional development opportunities in line with local and national frameworks (e.g., NMC revalidation requirements).
- Ability to act as a professional role model, demonstrating organizational values and behaviours.
- Skill in sharing knowledge and evidence-based insights to support team development and quality care (Desirable)
- Ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders (Desirable)
- A patient-centred approach ensuring high levels of patient satisfaction and clinical care.
Clinical Responsibilities Within The DCA ACP Scope Of Practice
- Conduct comprehensive remote patient assessments, establish accurate diagnoses, and develop appropriate treatment plans remotely.
- Build rapport with patients through effective communication, demonstrating emotional intelligence and promoting a positive patient experience.

- Participate in training, professional development, clinical meetings, and clinical supervision to enhance expertise.

- Fulfil NMC/HCPC revalidation requirements for continued practice.
Research/Clinical Governance Responsibilities
- Actively participate in quality assurance initiatives and service development when required.
- Utilise reporting systems and feedback mechanisms to drive continuous improvement.
- Critically evaluate research, audit, and evaluation findings to inform your own practice and guide others.
- Engage in regular reviews and performance appraisals as required by DCA.
Safeguarding
- Promote a culture of patient-centred and good professional practice relating to the safeguarding of adults, young person’s and children at risk.
