About The Role

We’re looking for a Freelance Medical Content Writer to join our team on a part‑time basis. This role is ideal for a professional with an understanding of the medical world and a passion for patient education. You will also be responsible for translating complex medical and scientific information into clear, actionable guides that empower patients to better understand their health, conditions, and treatment options. The content you create will serve as a trusted resource for patients navigating their healthcare journey. The guides will be focussed on a pre-selected set of treatments and conditions, and will be written to the agreed structure.
Responsibilities
- Creating Patient‑Friendly Guides: researching and writing comprehensive guides on various medical conditions and treatments, ensuring all content is tailored for patients. The guides must explain things in an easy to understand way, free of jargon.
- Ensuring Medical Accuracy: thoroughly researching all topics using reliable, evidence‑based sources such as peer reviewed journals and reputable health organisations. References for each guide will be captured.
- Focus on Clarity: creating English language guides based on the pre‑defined structure and examples, using clear sub‑heading, bullet points, and simple language to enhance readability for patients.
- Collaborate and Refine: working closely with our editorial team to review and edit content, ensuring it is accurate, consistent with our brand voice, and meets the needs of patients.
About You
- Medical Knowledge: must have an understanding of the medical world, including terminology, gained either through a relevant university scientific degree or previous professional work experience.
- Communication Skills: excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to simplify complex medical topics into patient friendly language.
