What You’ll Do as a Prescribing Pharmacist

We are looking for a Clinical Prescribing Pharmacist to support patients within Doccla’s virtual care model. You will play a key role in medication optimisation, supporting patient safety, that will help to prevent exacerbations and acute hospital admissions, allowing patients to have better management of their long‑term condition symptoms.

  • Conduct structured medication reviews
  • Process and respond to specialist treatment letters
  • Support care homes with medication‑related needs
  • Assist with practice dispensary operations
  • Process hospital discharge letters
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all medication‑related queries within the practice
  • Work collaboratively with GPs and wider healthcare professionals to ensure safe, effective prescribing
  • Support patient understanding and adherence through clear, tailored communication

What We’re Looking For

  • Independent Prescriber (IP) status
  • Completion of the Primary Care Pharmacy Education Pathway (PCPEP)
  • Previous experience working within a GP practice
  • Minimum of three years’ post‑graduate experience
  • Strong clinical knowledge and decision‑making skills
  • Confidence working in a busy primary care environment
  • Ability to adapt communication style for both patients and healthcare professionals
  • Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
  • Availability to work a minimum of 15 hours per week
  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • Personal Professional Indemnity Insurance

Desirable

  • Clinical Diploma (beneficial but not essential)
  • Experience working with remote or digital healthcare models
