What You’ll Do as a Prescribing Pharmacist
We are looking for a Clinical Prescribing Pharmacist to support patients within Doccla’s virtual care model. We will play a key role in medication optimisation, supporting patient safety, to help prevent exacerbations and acute hospital admissions, allowing patients to have better management of their long‑term condition symptoms.
What Experience You’ll Bring to the Team
- Conduct structured medication reviews
- Process and respond to specialist treatment letters
- Support care homes with medication‑related needs
- Assist with practice dispensary operations
- Process hospital discharge letters
- Act as the primary point of contact for all medication‑related queries within the practice
- Work collaboratively with GPs and wider healthcare professionals to ensure safe, effective prescribing
- Support patient understanding and adherence through clear, tailored communication
What We’re Looking For
- Independent Prescriber (IP) status
- Completion of the Primary Care Pharmacy Education Pathway (PCPEP)
- Previous experience working within a GP practice
- Minimum of three years’ post‑graduate experience
- Strong clinical knowledge and decision‑making skills
- Confidence working in a busy primary care environment
- Ability to adapt communication style for both patients and healthcare professionals
- Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
- Availability to work a minimum of 15 hours per week
- Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- Personal Professional Indemnity Insurance
Desirable
- Clinical Diploma (beneficial but not essential)
- Experience working with remote or digital healthcare models
