Looking for a seasoned Womenswear technologist from a recent retail / branded background (not luxury). The role is working for a premium retailer in central London for a three-month contract from next week. Up to £300 a day - Office based.

The role includes:

  • Responsible for the womenswear Softs category, managing fitting through all stages of style development from prototype to bulk production and ensuring tech pack comments and technical details are clear.
  • Ensuring a consistent fit throughout all of knitwear.
  • Leading fit sessions across all stages, from prototype to production, ensuring consistent fit and construction.
  • Writing clear, detailed tech pack comments with supporting diagrams/pictures for suppliers.
  • Partnering with design, buying, and product development teams to balance design vision with production methods.
  • Managing product quality, from approving samples and resolving technical issues to overseeing wash care and testing.
  • Driving seasonal block updates, managing grading consistency, and overseeing the technical critical path.
  • Reviewing customer returns, analysing reasons, and implementing strategies with suppliers to reduce return rates.
  • Keeping strong supplier relationships, including audits, to ensure adherence to the brand's high standards of quality.
