Are you a confident, commercially minded Garment Technologist looking to take ownership of the technical process within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment? Our client, a well‑established clothing manufacturer in the Uxbridge area, is seeking a skilled technologist to join their growing team.

As the Garment Technologist, you will play a pivotal role in driving product quality, ensuring compliance, and supporting the development of commercially strong ranges. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and conducting fit sessions, making decisions that balance speed, quality, and commercial requirements.
  • Owning the fitting process, building trust with internal teams and suppliers.
  • Analysing technical issues and providing clear, accurate comments to suppliers.
  • Managing and processing samples efficiently, ensuring timelines are met.
  • Collaborating with Design, Merchandising, and suppliers to provide technical guidance that improves quality and controls cost.
  • Ensuring compliance with fibre composition regulations, product safety, and REACH legislation.
  • Managing garment testing requirements, reviewing inspection reports, and resolving any non‑compliance issues.
  • Promoting a culture of continuous improvement, identifying creative technical solutions.
  • Providing factories with clear testing and construction guidance to support production quality.

The experience needed to be shortlisted:

  • Recent experience in a Garment Technologist role (additional childrenswear experience highly desirable).
  • Strong multi‑product experience, confidently working across categories.
  • Experience collaborating directly with factories and understanding production processes, equipment, and workflows.
  • Pattern‑cutting knowledge (very desirable), along with grading and grade rules.
  • Excellent understanding of garment construction, fabric technology, and testing requirements.
  • Strong communication skills, with experience working across cultures.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent time‑management and agile problem‑solving skills.
  • Confidence using Outlook, Excel, and Word, with willingness to broaden technical skills.
  • Experience with PLM systems (advantageous).
  • Commutable to the Uxbridge area and eligible to work in the UK.
