As the Garment Technologist, you will play a pivotal role in driving product quality, ensuring compliance, and supporting the development of commercially strong ranges. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and conducting fit sessions, making decisions that balance speed, quality, and commercial requirements.
- Owning the fitting process, building trust with internal teams and suppliers.
- Analysing technical issues and providing clear, accurate comments to suppliers.
- Managing and processing samples efficiently, ensuring timelines are met.
- Collaborating with Design, Merchandising, and suppliers to provide technical guidance that improves quality and controls cost.
- Ensuring compliance with fibre composition regulations, product safety, and REACH legislation.
- Managing garment testing requirements, reviewing inspection reports, and resolving any non‑compliance issues.
- Promoting a culture of continuous improvement, identifying creative technical solutions.
- Providing factories with clear testing and construction guidance to support production quality.
The experience needed to be shortlisted:
- Recent experience in a Garment Technologist role (additional childrenswear experience highly desirable).
- Strong multi‑product experience, confidently working across categories.
- Experience collaborating directly with factories and understanding production processes, equipment, and workflows.
- Pattern‑cutting knowledge (very desirable), along with grading and grade rules.
- Excellent understanding of garment construction, fabric technology, and testing requirements.
- Strong communication skills, with experience working across cultures.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent time‑management and agile problem‑solving skills.
- Confidence using Outlook, Excel, and Word, with willingness to broaden technical skills.
- Experience with PLM systems (advantageous).
- Commutable to the Uxbridge area and eligible to work in the UK.
