A well-established SME lender is seeking a Senior Underwriter / Head of Credit to lead its credit function and oversee underwriting standards, credit policy, and sanctioning processes. The Role
- Lead and manage the credit sanctioning team, ensuring consistent decisions and SLA delivery
- Act as first-line approval for new loan applications and due diligence
- Own, review, and develop credit policy and underwriting processes
- Support and train underwriters and business development teams
- Oversee the credit journey from sanction through to loan release
- Work closely with portfolio and compliance teams on risk and performance
- Provide credit insight and reporting at leadership level
