We are looking for an experienced Menswear Technologist with a solid understanding of Knitwear to join a menswear team with a great premium retailer on an initial three-month contract that could go perm if wanted. This role is pivotal in ensuring the brand's collections meet the highest standards of fit, quality, and craftsmanship and will oversee the full product journey—from development through to bulk production—driving excellence in fit, consistency, and technical standards.

Working closely with design, buying, and the supplier base, the technologist will ensure every garment looks first class.

What experience is needed:

  • Solid menswear experience with a very good understanding of knitwear.
  • Able to lead fit sessions across all stages, from prototype to production, ensuring consistent fit and construction.
  • Detail-oriented with a deep passion for premium menswear.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and suppliers.
  • Highly organised, calm under pressure, and able to deliver against tight deadlines.
  • Commercially aware, with the resilience and problem-solving ability to push ideas through.

Duties:

  • Leading fit sessions for knitwear across all stages, from prototype to production, ensuring consistent fit and construction.
  • Writing detailed technical comments and amending tech packs with supporting diagrams/pictures for suppliers.
  • Partnering with design, buying, and product development teams to balance design vision with production feasibility.
  • Overseeing quality standards—approving samples, resolving technical issues, and managing testing/wash care.
  • Managing seasonal block updates, grading consistency, and the technical critical path.
  • Analysing customer returns data, identifying root causes, and working with suppliers to reduce return rates.
  • Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships, including audits, to ensure the company's high standards of quality are met.
