An established specialist lender is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Underwriter to join a dynamic team focusing on bridging, refurbishment and development finance across England and Wales. The successful candidate will manage loan applications from inception through to redemption, ensuring smooth progression throughout. This role requires a background in finance, strong communication skills, and a solid understanding of underwriting principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Loan Application Management
- Manage the end-to-end loan application process
- Liaise with brokers, borrowers, solicitors and surveyors
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records
- Manage and prioritise a live pipeline of applications
- Client Communication
- Act as primary point of contact for stakeholders
- Provide clear updates and resolve queries efficiently
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships
- Review applications in line with lending criteria and risk appetite
- Assess supporting documentation and reports
- Identify risks and elevate where required
- Prepare concise credit papers for formal lending decisions
