Our client, a well-established and now growing women's fashion manufacturer in North London, is seeking a highly skilled Garment Technologist to join their product development and production team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work across both in-house brands and high-profile high-street accounts, contributing to fit, quality, and seamless end-to-end garment execution.
About the Role
You’ll play a key role in driving garment development from concept through to bulk production. Working closely with designers, buyers, and international production partners, you will ensure all products meet the highest standards of fit, construction, and compliance. This is an office-based position located in North London.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage garment development for in-house collections and major high-street clients.
- Lead fit sessions with key customers, delivering consistent, high-quality fit across multiple product categories.
- Ensure all fit, construction, and technical details are viable for costings and aligned with the critical path.
- Collaborate with design, buying, and factory teams to guarantee smooth product development and timely delivery.
- Oversee in-house and factory sealing processes, ensuring consistency in garment construction, trims, materials, labelling, and technical standards.
- Support the creation and optimisation of scalable processes to enhance bulk production efficiency.
- Ensure all products meet international standards, testing requirements, and regulatory compliance.
- Streamline communication between in-house teams and overseas manufacturing units to reduce lead times and drive production efficiencies.
About You (the must-have experience)
- Recent experienced womenswear Garment Technologist with a strong track record in high street fashion, ideally with exposure to high-street retail accounts.
- Confident leading fit meetings and communicating technical requirements to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Highly organised, detail-driven, and able to thrive within a fast-paced, product-focused environment.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, fabrics, trims, sealing, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships across design, production, and factory teams.
- Commutable to North London and eligible to work in the UK.
