Overview
An established and successful independent firm of chartered accountants is seeking a Semi-Senior Accountant to join their growing team based in Liverpool. This role is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to expand their experience and develop their career within accounts.
Responsibilities
The role is to fully prepare and draft SME annual statutory accounts with limited guidance. You will work with a variety of clients including limited companies, sole traders and partnerships who have a large range of timescales and turnover. The role is client facing, engaging with clients via email and telephone as well as occasionally face to face. The role is hybrid with ideally 2/3 days in their City Centre office. The role would suit someone at a semi-senior level looking for a position and company where they can settle.
Essential Experience
- Preparation of management accounts
- Communicating confidently with clients in respect of queries, missing information and so on.
- Preparation and finalisation of Financial Statements for non-audit clients (Limited companies, Sole traders, Partnerships, Trusts, Pension Schemes and LLP\’s)
- Preparing accounts from incomplete records
- Preparing accounts working papers and producing a file for manager review
- VAT calculations and submissions
- Undertaking some bookkeeping duties
- Liaison with HMRC
- Assisting on audit assignments
- Strong knowledge of double entry bookkeeping and be able to manage most technical accounting tasks without supervision
- Assisting a team of Senior Accountants
