The Role
This is an outside role, perfect for someone who thrives on being out in the field. You’ll spend your time predominantly across South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire, visiting clients on-site, attending insurer surveys, and securing new business. Working closely with our internal broking team to market risks, you’ll ensure clients receive tailored solutions for their commercial insurance needs. From negotiating renewals to guiding clients through the claims process, you’ll be the face of Dobson & Hodge, delivering a service that builds long-term loyalty.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively generate and secure new business enquiries across the South and West Yorkshire region
- Manage and service an existing portfolio of commercial clients, including renewal negotiations
- Attend on-site client visits and accompany insurers during surveys to provide expert support
- Assist clients with claims, offering clear guidance and a steady hand throughout the process
- Collaborate with our internal team to market risks and secure competitive terms for clients
- Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with both clients and insurer partners
What You’ll Need
- Proven experience in an outside account executive role or strong commercial insurance knowledge with a genuine desire to move into a field-based position
- Broad and confident knowledge across all areas of commercial insurance policies
- A natural ability to build rapport, influence decisions, and negotiate effectively
- Self-motivation and excellent organisational skills to manage your own diary and travel
- Full UK driving licence, as this role involves regular travel across the region
