As Ecommerce Manager, you\'ll play a key role in driving online sales, profitability and customer engagement across the Dobbies website.
You\'ll be responsible for delivering effective trading and merchandising strategies, optimising the online customer journey and identifying opportunities for growth through data-led decision making.
Working closely with teams across Buying, Marketing, UX, IT and Supply Chain, you\'ll ensure our digital channels provide an engaging customer experience while maximising commercial performance.
You\'ll also lead and develop a small Ecommerce team, creating a collaborative and high-performing environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute online trading strategies to drive revenue, profitability and category growth.
- Optimise product listings, category structures, filters and on-site search to improve customer discoverability and conversion.
- Work closely with Buying teams to implement pricing, promotional and discount strategies that support sales performance.
- Manage stock availability in partnership with Buying and Supply Chain teams to maximise stock utilisation and minimise lost sales opportunities.
- Plan and deliver seasonal campaigns, promotional activity and key trading events across digital channels.
- Lead paid digital marketing activity, including PPC, affiliates, paid social and email marketing, to drive quality traffic and sales.
- Use A/B testing and customer behaviour data to optimise landing pages, product placement and conversion performance.
- Monitor key ecommerce performance metrics including sales, conversion rate, average order value, return on investment and customer engagement.
- Produce regular trading reports, providing insight and recommendations to support continuous improvement.
- Work with UX, Product and Technical teams to improve website functionality, navigation and overall customer experience.
- Support the implementation of personalisation tools, customer reviews and user-generated content to enhance online engagement.
- Lead, coach and develop a small Ecommerce team, ensuring clear objectives, strong performance and ongoing development.
- Build effective relationships across the business to ensure alignment on promotions, stock management, website updates and customer priorities.
- Collaborate with Customer Service teams to identify and resolve customer pain points and improve the overall customer journey.

- Previous experience in ecommerce, online trading or digital merchandising.
- Experience leading teams or managing projects, with the ability to motivate and develop others.
- Strong analytical skills and experience using tools such as Google Analytics, Excel, Power BI or similar platforms.
- A solid understanding of ecommerce trading principles and digital merchandising best practice.
- Knowledge of conversion rate optimisation (CRO) techniques and customer journey improvement.
- Experience interpreting data and turning insights into actionable trading plans.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple functions.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience within a multichannel retail environment.
- Knowledge of marketplace selling or dropship operations.
- Experience using A/B testing platforms and optimisation tools.
