Role overview
As we prepare for the closure of Antrim, our Warehouse Assistants play a key role in helping the store wind down safely and efficiently: dismantling fixtures and fittings, packing & moving stock, keeping the site safe and organised throughout the process.
Role responsibilities
- Assisting with the dismantling of fixtures, fittings, shelving and store equipment
- Packing, labelling and moving stock ready for transport, storage, or disposal
- Supporting the warehouse team with stock consolidation, and loading/unloading vehicles
- Handling stock and equipment carefully to avoid damage during the move
- Keeping the working area safe, tidy and organised as the store empties out
- Following all health & safety guidance, including safe manual handling and (where trained) safe use of pallet trucks or forklifts
- Working closely with the team to hit closure deadlines
- Supporting other closing-down duties as needed, which may include shopfloor clearance and stockroom breakdown
- On occasion, may be asked to support our customers by helping them carry items to their cars
Who we are looking for
- Physically fit and comfortable with lifting, carrying and manual handling
- Reliable and punctual, able to commit to the agreed hours for the full closure period
- A team player with a hands-on, can-do attitude
- Flexible and unfazed by a fast-changing environment
- Retail, warehouse or stock experience is useful but not essential
- A forklift truck license would be an advantage, though not essential
Contract details
- Part-time, temporary contract for the duration of the closure
- Hours: 16-35 hours
- Based at Dobbies Antrim
