The role of Sous Chef supports the Executive Chef Team and has a primary responsibility for overseeing and supervising production of food for DO & CO. You will work hard to promote the company’s culture, mission, and values. You will act as a team leader and motivator for the whole team using interpersonal skills and be a clear communicator. You will be responsible for supervising, training, evaluating, coaching, and counseling the team ensuring compliance with company standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working closely with the Executive Chef team to ensure that consistent quality products are produced following all DO & CO standards.
- Designing, developing, and presenting new menu designs as per the customers’ needs.
- Managing and supporting the Kitchen team with all internal employee relations, agency usage, and recording of cost/hours.
- Being a role model, ready to roll up your sleeves and lead the team in the absence of the Head Chef.
- Instilling a culture of job pride and ownership and motivating the team to adapt to stressful situations.
- Planning production to the daily schedule and ensuring the exceptional DO & CO quality is maintained.
- Establishing production of recipes that align with the set pricing structure and customer budget.
- Ensuring operations adhere to all SOPs and relevant Critical Control Points, Health and Safety, Food safety, and legal requirements.
- Performing quality control checks to ensure specifications are met on raw materials and finished products.
- Building and maintaining excellent working relationships with all departments.
- Defining systems of working to ensure quality of product and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Driving success by proactively managing team performance and providing development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Role model ability, leading a large team with a problem-solving mentality.
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef.
- Confidence in taking the lead as you will be required to manage the department.
- Passion for high-end cuisine and motivation to deliver exceptional service.
- Well presented, professional individual with a positive attitude.
- Ability to be a positive change champion for DO & CO.
- Meticulous attention to detail and data-driven.
