The Lounge Senior Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the operation of the Qatar Lounge at Heathrow Airport. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing the execution, direction and coordination of all lounge operating procedures, including organising schedules, liaising with other departments and suppliers.
  • Ensuring staff understand role expectations and duties, and acting as the main point of reference for Qatar staff and guests regarding remarks, suggestions and complaints.
  • Supporting, leading and delivering exceptional food and service, while maintaining the high reputation of DO & CO with our partners.
  • Planning, managing, delivering and presenting food and beverages as per the food specification.
  • Supervising lounge staff (Hosts, Front of House, Chefs) to maintain high-quality products and service to passengers.
  • Keeping the lounge well-stocked, clean and tidy in line with specifications.
  • Delivering excellent customer service with an in-depth knowledge of products and services, and engaging guests with a smile.
  • Maintaining grooming and uniform standards.
  • Assisting with any ad-hoc duties when required.
  • Managing team performance through regular one-to-one meetings and appraisals, and celebrating successes as a family.
  • Checking with passengers to ensure enjoyment of meals, and promptly addressing any issues, queries or complaints.
  • Describing and recommending wines and spirits to passengers.
  • Anticipating customer needs by proposing additional meals or drinks.
  • Checking preparations for the next day by the end of the night shift and directing the team to undertake additional tasks if requirements are not met.
  • Coordinating and planning production to ensure a full buffet throughout the day while avoiding wastage at the end of the day.
  • Communicating shift-plan changes or extended work hours due to flight delays.
  • Writing an informative shift report summarising important events and occurrences at the end of each shift.
  • Submitting necessary paperwork to Qatar or DO & CO contacts on a daily basis, as instructed by the Lounge Manager.
  • Upholding all Health, Safety, EHO, accident reporting and other mandatory training schedules, and keeping records current.
  • Responding to, and organising roster changes, informing staff in a timely manner, and updating payroll as required.
  • Willingness to help other team members wherever possible and understanding flexibility required when business levels peak.
  • Willingness to undertake any reasonable requests by the company, including flexibility in hours, location and responsibilities.

  • Flexibility in work availability essential as the lounge operates 7 days a week, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
