About The Role

The global Marketing, Communication and Public Affairs (MCP) team positions DNV as the credible thought leader and enabler of industry change in the energy transition. The team helps win business by creating demand for our services through best-practice marketing and communications aligned with business priorities; builds an optimal employee experience and satisfaction; maintains relationships with policy makers and industry stakeholders; and scouts for commercial opportunities from these relations.

MCP consists of a Global Centre of Expertise and five regional Marketing, Communications and Public Affairs teams, close to customers and markets. To enable Energy Systems to achieve its strategic ambitions and become future fit, we need Marketing, Communications and Public Affairs professionals who support the business to meet customers’ expectations while also building a globally consistent premium brand for DNV in the energy market.

The MCP team is therefore seeking a Head of MCP for the region UK & Ireland, leading a team of two Marketing Communications managers. The Head of MCP UK&I reports to the Head of Regions and is a member of the MCP Leadership team. The Head of MCP UK&I is a results-driven senior marketing & communications advisor and the central point of contact for the Regional Business Director and the Regional Leadership Team.

In this role you will support Energy Systems’ growth goals in the region through commercial, customer-focused high-quality marketing, internal & external communications projects tailored towards key accounts and specific local target audiences. You will do this by developing and deploying a regional marketing and communications strategy including services from different Business Units, growth segments and ventures. You will also ensure internal communications are well deployed within the region. You stimulate collaboration within the regional MCP teams as well as across regions and functions.

Primary Tasks Of This Role

  • Develops and sets the MCP strategy, annual initiatives & tactics plan for the Region based on market data and customer analytics, with the aim to improve customer and stakeholder relations and increase quality leads; promotes cross-selling by including the needs of Global Business Units, ventures, and segments.
  • Advises the Regional Director on marketing, internal, external communications, and public affairs.
  • Leads a strong team of customer-focused marketing communications managers.
  • Monitors and reports on Regional MCP KPIs in a structured and regular manner to the Regional Director and within MCP to ensure return on investment can be measured.
  • Defines and monitors MCP budget and MCP resources for the region; aligns with the Regional Director and the Head of Regions.
  • Is a member of the regional leadership team and joins regular meetings.
  • Embeds global positioning, campaigns, trends, tools, systems in the region along global messaging and applies premium brand quality according to globally defined standards.
  • Ensures Regional MCP plans are executed within required deadlines, budget and global quality standards with the required results.
  • Proactively spots opportunities and creates solutions and creative campaigns suited for the region.
  • Is the regional touchpoint to adapt global campaigns to regional needs, customers, and interests.

Position Qualifications

  • Relevant education, Bachelor level or higher.
  • Extensive experience (minimum 10 years) and expertise in marketing and communications.
  • Preferably experience in managing people.
  • Strategic partner, senior marketeer & communications professional, customer obsessed, commercial mindset.
  • Used to connect with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Organisation skills to meet deadlines and time schedules, able to manage limited resources with optimised outcome.
  • Proven ability to work in a highly structured way, ensuring full compliance with established policies, procedures and guidelines.
  • Analytical, digital and data focused.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Very experienced and familiar with the culture and differences within the region.
