Our specialist Jack-Up Engineering Service is part of the wider Assurance Services department. The work we do is at the forefront of implementing the green energy transition around the world today, with a focus on the installation and operation of jack-up vessels. Our team provides sophisticated solutions and engineering assessments to support offshore renewable energy installation projects around the globe, as well as ensuring safe operations for our oil and gas customers. The team is based in the London office and is the global technical hub for this service line.

Our Opportunity:
Based from our central London offices (near Waterloo/Blackfriars stations), we are seeking a motivated Senior Structural Engineer to join our team. The main focus of this position is to support the jack-up service for safe marine operations related to offshore wind turbines and other energy projects. However, by joining our diverse team of structural, civil and mechanical engineers, you will also have the opportunity to apply your skills across the other services in our department.

- Own Your Projects with Independence: Manage your own projects with a high degree of autonomy, supported by mentorship and guidance from our seasoned senior engineers.
- Fuel Business Growth: Collaborate with the Service Manager to expand our Jack-up Engineering business, which includes tasks like preparing tenders, crafting proposals and acting as Key Account Manager role for one or more customers.

For this role, we are looking for someone with experience in offshore structural assessments. As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering technical work and managing projects, while also supporting other members of the team. Your strong technical background will be invaluable in ensuring the successful delivery of structural analyses, while meeting deadlines and budgetary requirements. Additionally, you will have ample opportunities to engage in project management and commercial activities, with the autonomy to lead and support technical proposal preparation. Your ability to think strategically and proactively will be critical in contributing to the growth and success of our team.
The ideal candidate will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with a proven track record of delivering results in a consultancy environment.
Essential:
- Significant experience gained within engineering consultancy, with a background in offshore structures, offshore wind, or oil and gas.
- In-depth knowledge of structural analysis with a focus on at least one of the following areas: Wave loading of offshore structures, Dynamic response of structures, Finite Element Analysis, Naval architecture, Marine operations, Seismic design.
- Demonstrable project management skills, proven ability to meet with clients and lead projects independently with minimum supervision.
- Proactive and curious, with a passion for innovation and a commitment to developing new or cutting-edge approaches for the offshore industry.
- Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills, with confidence in building professional relationships and demonstrating exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Adaptability and agility, with the ability to maintain high performance and quality under pressure.
- A degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with industry assessment software, such as FEA (e.g. Abaqus/Ansys).
- Experience conducting technical advisory assignments and third-party verification work.
- Chartered membership of a relevant professional institutional body.
