In this Approval Engineer role, you contribute to the certification of offshore containers, lifting equipment and portable offshore units. You’ll work with international customers and a team of experts to address challenging structural and mechanical assessments, shaping global best practices and standards. You will apply engineering analysis to solve complex problems and grow into project leadership with broad stakeholder exposure. The position offers exposure to international projects, structured development, and a mission-driven environment focused on safe, sustainable offshore operations. You will join a team at the forefront of certification standards development for the energy industry

Responsibilities
- Assess offshore containers, lifting equipment and portable offshore units against DNV and international standards
- Collaborate with industry experts to develop and maintain global best practice
- Apply engineering analysis tools, including finite element modelling, to solve complex challenges
- Take increasing ownership of projects, customer relationships and technical decisions
- Develop commercial, project management and stakeholder management skills through direct customer exposure
- Build an international professional network through collaboration with colleagues and clients worldwide

Key requirements
- HND or 2:2 degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Structural preferred)
- Knowledge of loads, mechanics, materials, joining techniques and structural analysis (finite element method)
- Excellent numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Excel and/or mathematical modelling
- Ability to produce clear technical reports
- Familiarity with project planning, budgeting and customer engagement
- Self-motivated, organised and able to manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to safety, quality and meeting deadlines
