Unit description
Technical Centre China is strengthening our team and seeking structural engineers who have a passion for the ship newbuilding industry in China. As a structural engineer, you will be working in the technical team as part of Technical Centre China which is the competence hub for DNV in China where our team of highly skilled engineers provide plan approval service and technical support to our customers. This position will be based in our DNV Dalian office.
Position description
- Carry out hull structure modeling and postprocessing of strength analysis of ship hull structures according to relevant rules and regulations, incl. DNV rules, CSR rules, IMO IGC/IGF regulations, etc.
- Expertise in perspective and finite element analysis
- Handle technical queries from internal and external customers
- Provide support for sales, marketing, and business development within the relevant technical discipline.

Position qualification
- It is desirable for the candidate to have a Bachelor’s or master’s degree in ship engineering or equivalent.
- Young talent and fresh graduates are welcomed to apply.
- Experience in structural FEA and/or hydrodynamic analysis is preferred.
- Familiar with relevant FE tools, e.g. Genie, Patran, FE Gate etc., is an advantage.
- Familiar with ship’s hull structural design is an advantage.
