About Energy Systems
We help customers navigate the complex transition to a decarbonized and more sustainable energy future. We do this by assuring that energy systems work safely and effectively, using solutions that are increasingly digital. We also help industries and governments to navigate the many complex, interrelated transitions taking place globally and regionally, in the energy industry.
DNV's Renewables Certification (RC) is seeking an engineer with a background in subsea cables (electrical or mechanical), to join our RC team in Taipei. RC has the global responsibility for Type Certification (TC), Component Certification (CC) and Project Certification (PC) within DNV Energy Systems. Currently, DNV RC consists of nearly 300 experts with locations in Boston, Busan, Hamburg, Copenhagen, Dresden, London, Shanghai, Beijing, Taipei and other cities. DNV is a market leader in Renewables Certification, and we work with the leading OEMs in the TC wind market and are involved in more than 80% of PC for offshore wind parks in the world.
Offshore wind in Taiwan will continue to grow in order to meet the government's ambitious offshore wind targets – this will mean more fixed-bottom and eventually floating projects. To meet this demand, RC is expanding its team in Taiwan and therefore seeks highly skilled and motivated persons to represent RC services in the rapidly growing offshore wind market.
Overall responsibility of the position is to perform technical review work of the subsea power cables (and their interfaces to the wind turbine generators, offshore substation, and onshore termination) in collaboration with RC colleagues across our global organization. Technical review of subsea power cables considers the electrical, mechanical and interface designs, including manufacturing, transportation, and installation (with focus on CBRA, burial assessment studies, cable route design and secondary structures). Successful candidates may also perform onsite witnessing of fabrication, transportation, and installation work and/or serve as asset package or project managers for Taiwan offshore wind projects. The position is located in our Banqiao (New Taipei) office.
Tasks may include:
- Delivering technical review in one or more of the certification work tasks related to the certification of subsea power cables
- Project/Package Manager for one or more Taiwan projects
- Coordination of work tasks and deliveries from other DNV units in Taiwan and abroad
- Participation in standards development, joint-industry projects (JIPs) and conferences
- Follow-up with onsite witness of fabrication and transport & installation activities in Taiwan, Korea or other fabrication locations
- Not only working on Taiwan projects, there are opportunities with international projects as well
